Maria Tamburri
Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Dominion Energy
Maria Pia Tamburri is responsible for leading Dominion Energy’s diversity & inclusion and employee engagement programs. Previously, Maria was senior community engagement policy director. In this role, she led the company’s community engagement efforts across Dominion Energy’s footprint.
Before joining Dominion Energy, Maria led global public affairs and crisis management for Allegion, plc. in Carmel, Indiana. Prior to this role, Maria lived in Stuttgart, Germany where she served as the Chief of Strategic Outreach Initiatives for U.S. Africa Command, U.S. Department of Defense. From 2001 until 2008, Maria held a variety of roles as a political appointee in the administration of President George W. Bush. Her time in the administration provided her with the opportunity to work as Senior Advisor for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs and Director of Specialty Media and Hispanic spokesperson in the White House Office of Media Affairs. She also served in the Department of Housing and Urban Development and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Earlier in her career, Maria worked in the U.S. House of Representatives in the Judiciary Committee and House Government Reform Committee.
Maria is a graduate of Florida International University in Miami, Florida, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She also studied Latin American politics at the Universidad de Belgrano in her native city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She is married to Alexander G. Flakas and has two young daughters.
Jeanette Hernandez Prenger
President and Chief Executive Officer, ECCO Select
As founder, CEO and President of ECCO Select, Jeanette Hernandez Prenger leads one of the Top 500 Hispanic businesses in the country, with more than 300 employees serving clients nationwide and in Canada. As “the talent behind the technology,” ECCO Select is a talent acquisition + advisory consulting company, specializing in providing people, process and technology solutions for its clients.
Jeanette started her career as a software developer and was promoted into various management positions during her experience at leading companies, such as Sprint, TWA, Federal Reserve Bank, and Waddell & Reed. In 1995, Jeanette founded ECCO Select, with one client. It has grown into a leading provider of technology talent for Fortune 1000 companies and government agencies, with offices in Kansas City, MO and Washington, D.C.
A tireless advocate for business and economic growth, Jeanette has earned countless awards for her leadership and community involvement. She serves on the national boards of The Latino Coalition, United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement USA, Boy Scouts of America, Women Impacting Public Policy and Orphaned Starfish Foundation as well as those closer to home – the State of Missouri Tourism Commission, the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Economic Advisory Council, the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association (Visit KC), the American Royal, the Heart of America Council of Boy Scouts, Kansas City Tech Council and is chair of the Board of Trustees for Park University.
Jeanette is a graduate of Park University with a BS in Management Information Systems.
Jennifer Rodriguez
Director of Commercial Development - Global Brands
An entrepreneurial-minded leader with almost 10 years in CPG Industry (Consumer Packaged Goods). Jennifer is currently the Director of Commercial Development for the Global Brands Division at Nestlé, the world’s largest Food & Beverage Company ~$90 Billion Revenue in 2020.
Among many strengths, Jennifer is a natural born leader with a unique ability to lead others and a strong business acumen to deliver sustainable & profitable business results. Jennifer is a first generation American of Portuguese & Argentinean decent. She embodies her cultures, values and languages, which has resulted in Jennifer’s deep understanding of others’ cultures rendering her a Global Citizen.
Given Jennifer’s background, she has a strong desire for International experiences. Jennifer has lived and worked abroad on two different occasions. In Cordoba, Argentina, Jennifer focused on building an import & export pipeline between ProCordoba & Mercosur Partners. During Jennifer’s time in Geneva, Switzerland, she worked as a consultant for Mercer, leading a Global project with their Expat division.
Upon, receiving her Bachelor’s of Science in International Business at Boston University, Jennifer joined Nestlé under their prestigious Leadership Development Program. Since joining Nestlé in 2011, Jennifer has held a variety of functional roles in Sales, Business Development & Strategy. Jennifer continues to be a Top Performer and Leader.
In May 2020, Jennifer graduated from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business with her Executive MBA (Master’s of Business Administration). Jennifer’s robust professional experience in less than ten years is a testament to her work ethic, capabilities and leadership style.
